چکیده

The study of the influence operating parameters dynamic adsorption on fixed-bed column manganese oxoanions (MnO4-) in aqueous media granular activated carbon (GAC), prepared from shells palm nuts Gabon, was carried out. studied were particle size, concentration initial solution (C0) MnO4-, flow rate (D) and pH media. results obtained show that best capacities at saturation (Qsat) MnO4- ion CAG with size between 0.04 -1); 3 mL.min-1 (8.36 mg.g-1) when equal to 3.5 (27.01 mg.g-1). Also, these showed bed GAC appeared more effective C0 low (10 mg.L-1). kinetic models different studies out pseudo-first-order model describes ions GAC. intraparticle diffusion indicate follows a multi-step process is not limiting step. In addition, surface plays predominant role mechanism dynamics.

Fixed-bed Column of Surface Modified Activated Carbons for Adsorption of Mercury (ii) in Aqueous Solution

Activated carbons are universal adsorbents that can be obtained from a wide variety of raw materials, and have been found to be very effective for mercury removal from water. This contribution presents a comparative adsorption in column study of activated carbons obtained by physical activation of carbonized eucalyptus wood with water vapour, as adsorbents of mercury in liquid phase. Two sampl...

Adsorption of Copper (II) Ions from Aqueous Solution onto Activated Carbon Prepared from Cane Papyrus

The present study evaluates the suitability ofactivated carbon, prepared from Cane Papyrus, a plant that grows naturally and can be found quite easily, which serves as a biological sorbent for removal of  Cu2+ ions from aqueous solutions. Fourier transform infra-red analysis for the activated carbon, prepared fromCane Papyrus confirms the presence of amino (–NH), carbonyl (–C=O), and hydroxyl (...

Adsorption of copper, lead and cadmium from aqueous solutions by activated carbon prepared from saffron leaves

Background: Industrial development has caused the release of various pollutants including heavy metals into the environment. These toxic compounds are extremely dangerous to living beings and the environment due to their non-biodegradability, severe toxicity, carcinogenicity, the ability to be accumulated in nature and the ability to contaminate groundwater and surface water. The aim of the pre...

Competitive adsorption of furfural and phenolic compounds onto activated carbon in fixed bed column.

For a multicomponent competitive adsorption of furfural and phenolic compounds, a mathematical model was builtto describe the mass transfer kinetics in a fixed bed column with activated carbon. The effects of competitive adsorption equilibrium constant, axial dispersion, external mass transfer, and intraparticle diffusion resistance on the breakthrough curve were studied for weakly adsorbed com...
